Don Hawkley

After graduation from university in Birmingham, Don spent many years teaching Art and History of Art to A Level. Since leaving teaching in 2015 Don has been making large sculptural vessels in stoneware which are informed in patina and form by his coastal environment. Each of his pieces is fired several times using slips, glazes and oxides to develop the surface qualities he wants to achieve. Don is a member of Anglian Potters and has successfully exhibited locally, in Norwich and Sculpt Gallery in Great Braxted.
